Job Summary
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the university’s enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, and data analysis efforts. This role oversees a high-performing FP&A team responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights that empower senior leadership, colleges, and business units to make strategic, data-informed decisions. The Director plays a key role in developing forecasting models, conducting trend analyses, and aligning financial planning with institutional priorities and long-term goals.
This position collaborates closely with the AVP for Budget & Planning, AVP for Financial Administration/Comptroller, and other senior leaders to integrate financial and institutional data into decision-making at the university and unit levels.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$130,000 - $140,000/annual
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a field closely related to the position.
2. At least five (5) years (60 months) of full time (or part-time equivalent) experience in a college or university setting, with experience in financial planning and analysis at a supervisory or administrative level.
3. Demonstrated strong financial modeling and data analysis skills.
4. Demonstrated advanced Excel skills.
5. Demonstrated experience working with university financial structures, including fund accounting.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of higher education financial regulations and reporting requirements.
7. Demonstrated experience working with college or university leadership/administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Cognos Advanced Analytics).
Work Hours
Core Work Hours: Monday Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
